This compact desktop retrofit can elevate the keyboard to any point from 0.75" to 15.75" above the mounting surface. The upper work surface is positioned 4.75" above the keyboard tray and moves in concert with it. At 25.5" in width and 11.625" in depth, the keyboard tray offers sufficient space for most common keyboard and mousing device configurations, even central pointing devices. At 31.5", the upper work surface is wide enough to accommodate dual monitors (as long as their combined base width doesn't exceed the width of the top).

A unique feature of the CEPHEUS is the shallow 17.5" base footprint lets it be used on on desks as shallow as 18". Since the CEPHEUS is under 24" in depth it is also possible to position it on a 24" deep desk without having the keyboard extending past the front of the desk. And because the CEPHEUS uses an x-style lifting mechanism the keyboard and work surfaces move straight up and down, rather than cantilevering out from the desk and forcing users to step back when moving to a standing position. This means it can be more easily deployed in locations where space is limited. Because the keyboard extends forward by 6" it is still possible to achieve an appropriate monitor viewing distance despite the shallow footprint.

The gas cylinder mechanism provides a counter force up to 33 pounds, reducing the force users need to exert height adjustment. The single paddle release also enables users to easily position the CEPHEUS at any height within its 15.5" range.
